4. Always Start with a Proper Warm-Up
Many people confuse “warming up” with stretching, but they have two distinctly different meanings!
Warming up doesn’t need to be difficult or strenuous, but it should prepare your body for the workout ahead. An easy way to warmup is to walk on the treadmill or ride a stationary bike for 10 minutes.
Warming up properly will help you to avoid injuries and workout more intensely.
It is easy to notice the difference in your training when you haven’t warmed up properly!
3. Focus on the Compound Exercises!
Not everyone will be ready to practice the “Olympic” lifts early on in their weight training career, but everyone can use other compound exercises.
Compound exercises work more than one muscle group at a time, which is why they are excellent for burning fat and building muscle.
A few excellent compound exercises to use in your routine are:
- Bench Press
- Overhead Press
- Squat
- Deadlift
- Push-up
- Pull-up
A lot of “new” trainees prefer to work with isolation exercises because they are generally easier.
However, taking the easy way out will not get you the results you are looking for!
2. Try High-Intensity Interval Training for Cardio!
One of the biggest mistakes that new trainees make is that they do a lot of low-intensity steady-state cardio to “lose weight.”
This is a very common mistake, and it can cost you a lot of time and effort.
High intensity interval training (HIIT) is a much more efficient way to burn calories and help you blast fat off your body!
One of the most well-known HIIT training programs is the Tabata interval training method.
The Tabata method involves 8 rounds of 20 seconds of maximal intensity work, followed by only 10 seconds of rest.
You can use this HIIT method on many different exercises, but the stationary bike is the original exercise for this workout.
Go explore other HIIT methods and you will save yourself a ton of time in the gym!
1. Use the Right Supplements
The supplement market is flooded with products, and most of them are useless.
However, there are many which can easily increase your workout productivity.
If nothing else, you should try to take a product with caffeine before training. Caffeine will increase your energy and focus, allowing you to train harder and longer. It is a commonly used and effective supplement!
Don’t waste your money on supplements that may or may not work, start by using tried and tested methods first!
